How Three-Piece Sink Fabrication & Hydraulic Seam Crushing Save Material Costs and Enable Jumbo-Size
Today, leading manufacturers are shifting to a smarter, more cost-effective alternative: Three-Piece Welded Sink Production. By dividing the sink into three segmented sheets, manufacturers can drastically reduce material waste and produce jumbo-sized custom sinks that were previously impossible to stamp.
However, welding three pieces into one perfect sink introduces a new challenge: How do you handle the weld seams efficiently?
The answer lies in our latest innovation—the Automated Hydraulic Weld Seam Crushing & Rolling Machine.
After welding the three metal sheets together, the resulting weld seam is naturally raised, rough, and stressed. If you jump directly to the grinding and polishing phase, you will face high abrasive consumption, excessive labor costs, and a high risk of grinding through thin sheet metal.
Our hydraulic seam rolling machine solves this beautifully. Positioned right after the welding station, it acts as a precision transition that prepares the seam for flawless finishing.
Our machine utilizes advanced hydraulic technology to deliver consistent, heavy-duty pressure directly onto the weld seam through heavy-duty rollers. The process is optimized in three seamless steps:
Perfect Positioning & Alignment:Before any pressure is applied, the sheet metal is securely clamped and accurately positioned. This ensures the roller tracks perfectly along the seam without any deviation or material warping.
Adjustable Hydraulic Pressure:Depending on the material thickness and type, operators can finely adjust the hydraulic pressure. This flexibility allows the machine to deliver the exact tonnage needed to deform the weld nugget plastically without damaging the surrounding parent metal.
High-Efficiency Seam Flattening:As the hydraulic roller passes over, it flattens the raised weld seam, compressing it to virtually the same thickness as the original sheet.
